News...

Hello All,
Taliesen here. Actually, I don't really have any news at all. Life is boring and broke and sux. Well, that's not entirely true. I mean, we ARE in NY. It isn't really that boring....
We went to the Statue of Liberty on the weekend and she really IS beautiful. Daniel and I were in awe. I'm really glad we finally did it. I'll see if I can't get a photo or two on here for y'all to see (please excuse my size - I am substantially bigger than when you all saw me last.) America is not good for healthy eating. Everything that is bad is just SSOOOOOOOO good over here. It's CRAZY!!!!!! It also doesn't help that I work at a restaurant. You know, surrounded by food? Not good.
I'm looking for a real job but in the mean time, tips are GREAT. Who new I'd be so good at customer service. Although, I guess that's all I really did at Steam (if you look at everyone I worked with and for as customers... hehehe).
Daniel has been getting free-lance work and this Thursday is going to be working as a production assistant for a BBC shoot. He is super-excited and I am very proud of him. Daniel is working for a day on a New York Production Set. It is VERY exciting!!!!! And this should lead to more production work, so he's really happy.
Anyway. I'll write again soon.
Know that I miss and love you all!!!!!! Leave notes. I miss my friends LOTS.
Love you guys.
Taliesen and Daniel.

Our plight in New York City

So, this is Taliesen. As you have read, Daniel wrote the last couple of blogs after us not being able to get on the internet for a while. We've been shuffled around a lot. The woman we were staying with has got a VERY unreliable computer and internet cafe's are surprisingly hard to find.
Now we are staying with a friend of mine from work. We're in Brooklyn and she is COOL and her apartment is great (and quite roomy because she only just moved in and has no furniture) so that's been really great.
There are a few things that Daniel left off of his blog about stuff he has seen or experienced since arriving in the Big Apple...
He has discovered that the most reliable coffee can be found, not at Starbucks (which he is still boycotting), but at Dunkin Donuts... He has also discovered that Donuts in America are the best things ever.... So much so that we have made the rule for ourself that when we go to Dunkin Donuts, we get Bagels.
We have discovered the joy of real New York Begals..... YUM!!!!!
I introduced Daniel to S'Mores... for which he will never forgive me. For those of you unfamiliar with the American Campside (and slumber party) tradition of S'Mores, I shall tell you what they are... Toasted (or microwaved or baked) marshmallows on a Graham cracker (a sweet wheat biscuit/cracker) with a slice of chocolate melting next to the marshmallow and another graham cracker on top. They are FANTASTIC!!!!! The ONLY thing that makes them better (which is now the only way I'll ever eat them again) is to add peanut butter to the cracker. It is incredible. Daniel has vowed to leave me if I make making these a more than once-a-year event. So, till next year....
And a few other quick things....
New York needs more Malls or places like Target.
Almond milk is NOT good in coffee.
Trying to buy JUST the beans for beanbags is TOO dificult.
Free theatre in this city is EVERYWHERE!!!! So cool.
$10 brunch (hot brekkie plus TWO alcoholic beverages) is the BEST.
and....
You all would LOVE this place.
We miss you all incredibly and wish you were here.
Love you guys.
Taliesen & Daniel.
