A few pics - Our Holiday!!!

Well, I know it's been forever... but I did promise photos...
And here they are... of our Holiday down the East coast of the US and the cruise to mexico...

Now, firstly, we were off to a great start when we arrive at the car rental place and because they made us wait a while or they messed up our reservation or something, she says to us "We actually don't have the Kia Rio you booked. Would you mind taking a Ford MUSTANG?"

Um... YEAH RIGHT!!!!

We get down to the carpark and find that it is not JUST a Mustang.... but a Mustang CONVERTABLE!!!!! We weren't even out of Manhattan before I insisted we put the top down....
WOO-HOO!!!!! And we were ON OUR WAY!!!!!
We drove through New Jersey, Pennsilvania, Delaware, Maryland and into the District of Columbia... We decided to stop in the Nations Capitol... Washington D.C.
I got surprisingly proud and patriotic when we visited the White House. It felt incredible to be so close to the buildings where some of the most amazing and incredible (both good and bad) political decisions of all time have been made.
We walked around from the back of the White House to the front because when we were standing at the back of the White House, Daniel didn't believe it was actually it. He said it looked too small. From THIS side, he was impressed.
The Washington Monument really is SO huge... none of the photos do it justice... it is unbelievably imposing.
We didn't particularly like DC and we got out pretty quickly. We drove past the Washington Memorial on the way out, I wish we had stopped actually. But, there was obviously some Rapper there or something.... notice the stretch Hummer out the front.
Back on the road and heading down to our first real stop - Charlston, South Carolina.

So, after a long drive, out of DC and into Virginia, through Virginia, North Carolina and most of South Carolina, we arrived at my friend Kate's house. Kate (an actress friend of mine from Tuscaloosa) showed us around BEAUTIFUL Charleston the next day.
The city is so gorgeous, and really stole Daniel's heart. The history and the buildings reminded me of both the places I've called home melded into one - the ond stone buildings and cobble stone streets of the Rocks in Sydney and the beautiful our weatherboard houses of Alabama. It was so enchanting. We walked through the streets falling in love with almost every house we saw.
This is aparently the OLDEST cobble stone street in all of the United States. Cool, huh.
We had to take a couple of CAR shots.... it really was the best part of our holiday!!!!
After our beautiful stay in Charleston, it was back on the road again.
Continuing south, we drove through Georgia and down into Florida... all the way down to Miami, where we saw our home for the next five days, waiting in the harbour!!!
Before we boarded, we went and had lunch on Miami Beach (financially, a BIG mistake) and it was DIVINE!!!!
Here I am with the KING of all Mojito's!!!!! I think it's the same thing as a Caprioska in Australia... I don't know - Rum, Mint, Sugar... GOOD!!!!! And I actually finished this incredible drink... which, well, I'd want to, costing a couple of Andrew Jackson's.
And, my drink wasn't the only good thing about that lunch... the food was blissful... I got a seafood platter sent straight from Heaven, and Daniel, as always, enjoyed a perfect coffee.
Then it was time drive out of Miami Beach to board our ship!!!! (by this time, after my giant mojito... I was quite drunk)
It was incredible... Lots of great food.
The view was incredible, day and night, from the deck of the ship... I loved it.
This is Daniel in our dining room... It felt like we were in some bad 70's film set in Los Vegas.
And our first Port of Call was Key West in the Florida Keys... STUNNING!!!!! Key West also stole Daniel's heart and we have vowed to go back one day... soon!!!!
Key West is the most fun, laid-back little party strip I've ever been to...I mean, this is their Hard Rock Cafe!!! You can just walk down the street drinking beers (as long as you buy a beer-cosie to put it in). Here's me with my Bud Lite, in the middle of the street in the middle of the afternoon... SO COOL!!!
We found the most AWESOME hat store... I tried so hard to get Daniel to buy this hate, but he said no... How AWESOME does it look, though!!!!
I did get this one, though... HOT!!!
Of course, you can't go to Key West without having some REAL Key Lime Pie... I had the original, but Daniel got his frozen, dipped in chocolate... so delicious!!!!
Key West was just great... Great atmosphere, great food, great booze... Daniel and I wish we could have spent a couple of days there... it was so awesome. And the best weather we saw all holiday!!!
But, then it was time to get back on the boat and head down to Mexico... Food and sunbathing on the ship and then we were there!!!
Say bye-bye to Key West!!
Fun on the Boat!!!

Then it was "Hola Mexico!!!!"

a quick catch up

Hey all,
Well, it finally occured to me to write a blog from my phone, seeing as I ALWAYS have it with me and I am never sitting at a computer for more than 10 minutes. I am so busy these days that I don't even do my assignments on the computer, instead I write them all where ever I am, here on my phone and then email them to myself... I sit on the computer long enough to check my e-mails and cut and paste my assignments into a word doc... it is crazy!!!!
I have so many photos to upload to show you all, and I have no idea when I'llhave time to sit down on our computer and do that... sorry... by the time I finally do, you'll probably have pics of our vacation to Florida and Mexico, Thanksgiving in Alabama, My school end-of-year Christmas party, AND my birthday to look at... hahahah.
So, yeah... have fun with that.
As for us, I can tell you how we both are now... I do have time for that...
At the moment, this exact moment, I am sitting in the Sound and Lighting Booth of the Workshop Theatre (my schools black box theatre) at Brooklyn College. I have been here for over a week. I am currently fulfilling my required crew assignment for my degree... we all have to work crew on one show in our first semester. I am operating the lighting board for a show called "The Mystery Plays"... it's been pretty cool. So, I have been at Brooklyn College every night til 10pm or later, and that's after being in classes or at work or BOTH from 9am, every day for the last 9 days. Half that time, I've crashed with friends down here in Brooklyn to save myself a little time and energy and sleep. The huge down side of this is that I have seen Daniel for a total of maybe 5 hours since last Thursday (yes, that's right, it's now Saturday night... that's 5 hours out of 240 that I have seen my husband)... sucks so much... we are so excited about the Christmas holidays. My last day of classes is my birthday, the 12th, next Wednesday. SO excited to feel what sleeping in feels like again.
I have lovedevery second of school, though... it's been a phenominal few months... I am so excited by everything I'm learning, about myself, about acting, about relating to the world... its been incredible.
Daniel is doing OK... his work is frustrating him, because it's not as stimulating as he likes...he is finally getting a pay rise in the New Year, though... YAY Daniel!!!! He just found out but doesn't knowhow much it is yet... still, everyone, Congratulations to him. It comes at a perfect time, because I'll have to quit my job at the end of January...and we have to move in january, also, to Brooklyn.
We are currently also looking farward to our wave of visitors that will be coming to the Big Apple over the next month or so...
AND, unlike crappy last year, it has already started snowing and we are LOVING it...
All in all we are well. Busy... missing eachother AND everyone else... broke beyond belief... but, well. Hopeful... full of hope right now. And we are still finding moments every day to be happy and thankful.
We love and miss you all so much... photos to come.
Love...
